Conference on “RTI Act- Opportunities and Challenges”

United forum for RTI Campaign is organising a conference on “RTI Act- Opportunities and Challenges” in Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Institute(APHRDI) on 5th September 2019.
The conference will be inaugurated by Sri D.Chakrapani (Director General, APHRDI) and noted social activist and Ramon magasasy awardee Dr.Sandeep Pandey will attend as Chief Guest. Mr Pandey will address the RTI Activists and trainees on how RTI Act created various opportunities to the downtrodden to assert their democratic rights and also on the challenges faced by the act in its 14 year tenure.
Sri B.Ramakrishna Raju(National alliance of people’s movements, Founder member, UFRTI) will speak on how the RTI Act implementation has changed over period of time.
Chakradhar Buddha (Co-Convenor, UFRTI) will talk about an initiative called Jansoochna Portal experiment in Rajasthan where the voluntary disclosure of information under RTI Act has been redefined from the perspective of downtrodden people’s information needs.
Sri D.Chakrapani (Director General, APHRDI) will preside over the meeting.
RTI Helpline:
After the session gets over, RTI Helpline will be inaugurated by Sri D.Chakrapani (Director General, APHRDI). Dr Sandeep Pandey will receive the first call. The helpline will provide responses to people from AP and Telangana on the queries related to RTI Act.
